Problems trying to Log In to PennPortal
Why is it when I try and authenticate the Penn Portal says 'Sorry, you are not allowed.'
or
Message states I am authenticated but am not on the approved user list. Please advise.
Most currently enrolled students should be able to log in to the PennPortal.
Students enrolled in special programs such as short courses, senior associates and other non-credit programs are welcome to use the links on the PennPortal's main page even though they are not allowed in to the PennPortal. Students in these programs may use other university facilities such as Blackboard, and PennInTouch.
Any active University of Pennsylvania Faculty or Staff member should be able to log in to the PennPortal.
What does it mean when I get 'Your PennKey is disabled' in the PennPortal?
As students, faculty and employees leave the university their access to the PennPortal is disabled.
This message only applies to the PennPortal. Other system at the University have different rules.
If you suspect that your login problem is PennKey related, first try to login to a different PennKey site such as the Online Directory. If you PennKey still doesn't work on other sites, please see the PennKey site for assistance.
I am an employee at HUP. I am unable to use PennPortal. What should I do?
The University Library's licenses and agreements with their content providers make it necessary to limit login to PennPortal. Visiting scholars, as well as HUP, CHOP, and other University Health Systems employees are welcome to use the links on the Portal's main page even though they are not allowed to login to PennPortal.
